Ideas for future projects - Partners sought
Black History Projects
Louisa would like to build on the Black History in Dorset project and develop the research further, involving the local community in the research process.
There are many links with Black History in Dorset and other parts of the South West that can be explored and exhibitions/books published to showcase the findings and the rich multicultural past/present. More work of this nature needs to be done to redress the balance of history and understand the complexity of 'race' and ethnicity issues today.
Public Art - Poetry inregeneration projects
Louisa would be interested in developing public Art projects where local people from diverse sections of the community would be able to write about their experiences of life in the South West, and create a permanent record of this as part of local regeneration projects.
Telling Our Stories - Minority Groups
Louisa would be interested to develop any projects working with individuals from groups such as Black and Minority Ethnic; gay, bisexual and transgender; survivors of domestic violence or abuse; drug and alcohol dependants; the homeless, gypsies and Travellers; disabled; refugees and asylum seekers; people with mental health issues; single parents; low income families and any other groups who experience discrimination in our society and have experienced difficulties. She would work with the individuals involved to tell their stories and document their experiences, thereby adding new and diverse voices to history. This could be done through creative writing and poetry; prose; visual images and film.

Louisa has experience of managing Arts projects but would like to work in partnership with organisations or other local artists.
